Summary

Michael Pham is a Neuroscience B.S. student at Indiana University Bloomington and a Cox Research Scholar in the Hutton Honors College with a minor in Financial Literacy that is pursuing a PhD to continue a research career in the future. His academic interests center on clinical and translational neuroscience, particularly on potential interventions for neurodegeneration and respective diseases.

As an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Clinical Neurotrauma Lab under Dr. Keisuke Kawata, he contributes to an NIH-funded project investigating omega-3 fatty acids’ potential as a protective intervention for subconcussive neuronal injury after repetitive head impacts. His work includes MRI processing, biological sample collection, participant interviews, data management, and logistical coordination for clinical trials. He is currently serving as an Omega-3 Project Lead within the lab.

Outside of research and academic work, Michael enjoys hiking and exploring around the Midwest as his schedule allows. Trying out new recipes, volunteering in his community, and participating in recreational sports also take up his spare time.
